Terry passed away peacefully with the three of us by his side at Saint Michael's Hospice, Harrogate on Sunday 15 January 2017. Terry had been ill for a couple of years with lung cancer, which he chose not to seek medical treatment for. Terry's wish was to be laid to rest at Tarn Moor Memorial Woodland, Skipton and to have his grandchildren plant an oak tree at the foot of his grave. We hope to have a memorial event in Leeds for fans and friends to celebrate his extraordinary life later in the year.

His interment and tree planting will take place at 2.30pm on 27 January. If you wish to attend please email terrycryerarchive@gmail.com.

Donations to Saint Michael's Hospice, Crimple House, Hornbeam Park Avenue, Harrogate, HG2 8QL.

If you wish to send flowers for Terry please send to Wendy Clarkson Funeral Services, Embsay BD23 6EN.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumnal rain
When you waken in the morning hush
I am the soft uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
So do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die
